Little Hotelier may drive your motel into bankruptcy!

I can think of no other business that is more harmful to a motel than Little Hotelier and I am a Hotel Broker and a motel owner so I have many years of experience in the hospitality industry including franchising with a major hotel company. Unless you own a motel and want to declare bankruptcy, my personal suggestion would be to find another reservation company to use. There are SO many problems with this company that I know I will run out of space in this review. For starters, Little Hotelier allows guests to stay at your motel and then get a full refund for their stay for no reason at all. 100% of the times that a guest "disputes" the transaction, the guest got a FULL refund. In one case, a guest stayed at my motel for 9 nights and made 8 different charges to her card. I provided Little Hotelier with all 8 signed credit card receipts where the guest authorized the charges, I provided Little Hotelier with the Sign-In Sheet where the guest signed into the room, I provided Little Hotelier with a text message from the guest where she acknowledged that all of the 8 charges were authorized by her and I provided Little Hotelier with even more evidence, yet over $900 was taken from my account and given back to the guest. If your motel can afford refunding guests and not making any revenue on some of your bookings, then go ahead and sign up with Little Hotelier. Otherwise, BEWARE! Another of the many problems with Little Hotelier is that when a guest makes online reservations of multiple nights, but then reduces the number of nights at check in, as the motel owner, Little Hotelier only gives you 2 options via their website: 1) Pay commission on their entire initial stay or 2) Mark the guest as a no-show and cancel the reservation, which you shouldn't really do if they actually show up. So that means, if say a guest says they want to stay for 10 days. but decide they only want 1 day instead. then assuming a daily rate of $100 and a 17% fee, either you pay $170 in fees while only receiving $100 in revenue for the 1 night that they actually paid for, or contact Little Hotelier to have them make a manual change to the reservation so that you are only charged for 1 day. Now even if you pay your monthly Little Hotelier dues for your reservation system, if the Little Hotelier company does not change your commission invoice in time, your "late payment" on your commissions due invoice could have Little Hotelier freeze your reservation system, which is also your credit card processing system, all due to non-payment. That is right, even if you pay your bills for your reservation system and credit card processing system, Little Hotelier can, and has, frozen access so a motel cannot book any rooms or run any credit cards all because their system does not let the motel change the number of actual nights stayed at the motel. If your motel can survive with NO access to credit card processing and NO access to your reservation system, then why would you need Little Hotelier? Another of the many problems with Little Hotelier is that if you change a room type and want to keep the prior guest history, then Little Hotelier says you need to create a new room and "just keep blocking the old room" so it doesn't get booked. So if you have 20 rooms that are smoking with 2 full beds. Then you make them non-smoking with 2 full beds. Now you have 40 rooms to manage, while only actually having a 20-room motel. So your occupancy and RevPAR numbers are meaningless. And if you fail to block the fake rooms out for the entire 2-year period, then you start taking reservations on rooms that do not exist and you will be over booked. Now image if your 2 full beds, now become 2 queen beds. Now you have 60 rooms to manage in a 20-room motel. UPDATE: I believe that I have uncovered why 100% of the time a guest disputes a charge at my motel, that they get 100% of the money refunded. I would suggest all users of Little Hotelier that lost on their dispute with a guest to request a copy of the dispute form with the guest's card/bank AND also proof that Little Hotelier actually sent in the proof that you sent to Little Hotelier and prove that Little Hotelier actually sent it to guest's card/bank. It is now 06/09/2024 and Little Hotelier has still failed to provide me proof that they actually forwarded the proof that the guest stayed at my motel. I had forwarded the signed invoices, the signed motel room check in sheet, a text message from the guest confirming each and every transaction is valid and even more proof. However, the guest's bank stated on the dispute form that they NEVER received ANY proof from me proving the guest had stayed at my motel. And after MULTIPLE requests to Little Hotelier to prove that they actually forwarded that information to the guest's bank, they still have not sent me the proof that they forwarded it. It's over $900+..

Ve lo diranno solo dopo e senza preavviso: o continuate con il premium o rimanete a piedi. Sono accaduti anche errori di connessione canali con causa "inspiegabile" per cui non si prendono responsabilità sull'impatto negativo sulle vostre prenotazioni. Shameful... Indifferent software platform. Grotesque service.

Pub with 4 rooms - signed up to trial Little Hotelier and Little Hotelier Pay to avoid 15% commission payments to booking websites. 5 customers paid directly through Stripe to Little Hotelier's parent SiteMinder but Little Hotelier/ SiteMinder did not pay out. Many unreturned calls and messages to finance department. Small Claims Court claim. County Court Judgement. Would pay the 15% twice over in hindsight. Be warned!

Not a suitable product for small hostels

everything EVERYTHING is an $$$ add on. and thats aside from the fact that it doesnt handle the channels like expedia and booking.com well. we got no end of double bookings,bizzare price changes.. and they have split the software into so many different parts to increase revenue. for example, you cant even send your own email to a guest, only a template, sms is ANOTHER package and more money. Their so call 'self check in' extra package called Guestjoy is nothing more tha a glorified mailchimp front end, and cant even do a simple task such as check in a guest, they excpected us to use a guest check in form and then MANUALLY mark guests as checked in on arrival. Sirvoy is a much better package. Dont wast your time and money with Siteminder, Little Hotelier and Guestjoy. Pros: fairly nice gui and layout. easy to move rooms in calendar Cons: everything is a paid add on, every feature requires another package and more money. its madness how they have done this. they could have one really decent product, instead its split into so many parts its unusable.

Scheinbar war er auch etwas planlos.Der Support antwortet seit Wochen nicht auf Emails. Wir sind bereits auf der Suche nach einem anderem System. Pros: Cloudbasiert, intuitiv, freundliches Onboarding Cons: - Zahlungen können nicht rückwirkend aufgezeichnet werden- man kann den Kunden keine Angebote schicken sondern nur Reservierungen- Saisonpreise sehr umständlich einzutragen- viele Funktionen, die sich nicht nutzen lassen- Suche von Buchungen nur möglich bei Angabe des Zeitraumes- super viele Bugs- grauenhafter Support (20 Min. Warteschleife am Telefon und meine Probleme waren doch nicht gelöst)- Email werden nicht vom Support beantwortet- Backoffice total unstrukturiert und lieblos

Little Hotelier does not live up to the marketing promises.

I quit using Little Hotelier and went back to ResNexus. THe over all experience was frustrating and the worst software I have ever used. Pros: I liked the ready hover access to info on clients in the Front desk version, as well as the fact that Site-minder came with the cost of the product. Also, the sales person was very helpful, I wish she was the tech-support or training person. Cons: This was too hard to implement correctly, and too error prone. It needed a process "Step one", but that was missing. I set everything up in the Booking Engine first without realizing that the information in the booking engine is only what clients see online, not what is happening on the back end. I ended up deleting hours of work and starting over several times. there are videos and good instructions -- but never does it say -- do this first. Training never told me this. Tech support did, but only after I was integrated with Site-minder (another big project). The entire experience was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had -- further more, when I wanted to stop using the product I still had to pay for 3 months to fulfill a contract.

Poor customer service

I am really disappointed with their customer service that if our needs changed I would not use or recommend. Pros: Easy to sign up for the free trial and looks like it would be a good fit for business. Once the free trial started it was obvious that it wasn't exactly what we were looking for. Cons: There is so little customer service. They agreed to refund the additional subscription fee - raised the credit but no refund. I have emailed, and phoned since February.

It's ok. You can use it for package rates. But that's it. Pros: easy to create new reservation, good integration of email confirmation and invoices Cons: - major bug (triple charge of service charge) will not be fixed. no chance of using the online booking engine- export of reservation data only exports a few of the data. not everything. no chance to adjust it- no custom emails to send to customer before arrival (only 1 fixed one, we need 5)- reporting limited- no public roadmap nor information about future changes (never experienced an update since we use it)-

It has its ups and downs, we were extremely happy with the software because of its simplicity. But their current approach to have exclusivity over processing payment and no integration with stripe (or any other processing payments) has left us extremely disappointed . It was a BIG let down Pros: The software is easy to use, very intuitive, easy for our onsite staff and reservations team. Easy display, and easy booking platform Cons: After several years using the software, we were happy with the software.. It had its issues (reports and very basic features) but their simplicity was what made us choose them. That and their integration with Stripe which allow us to take payments at time of booking and direct payments from clients on site. We have been with stripe for over 15 years.... Little HOtelier, decided a few years later that they wanted to have their own payment processing system... which meant we had to ditch Stripe... However, tLittle HOtelier Payemnt system was NOT available for our country, so we were offered to just simply take payments by hand or using a third party platform. This has been a nightmare, as we need to collect payment from future guests using a third party system (stripe), sending invoices separately, managing all these invoices, and now onsite payment manually as well.We are not against their payment system, we are upset they gave us absolutely NO alternative or option. We will be ditching the software as it does not meet the most essential part of a booking system: payment processing.

Absolutely terrible. Pros: PSA: If you are considering the free trial, take note it's very hard to cancel. They hide the links and make you go through several steps. horrible customer service, international call cetner that is never open and only follows script. you might as well use their non human chat function. this compnay is all about the sell of the product and not the product itself Pros: The have a great sales team that highlights features that once you are switching come to light as not great features at all. Cons: Rate system is antiquated. No tracking of booking sources. No way to track travel agent bookings for commission. no group functions. no way to add any additionals with varying price points.
